BURKINA FASO: CONFLICT SENSITIVITY GUIDE FINALIZATION INDIVIDUAL CONSULTANT

PROJECT BACKGROUND
In partnership with Peace Nexus, GGGI-BFA conducted a capacity building process in the field of fragility from August 2023 to April 2024 by introducing Conflict Sensitivity (SC) into its practices. Carried out in the form of training-action/mentoring, this process has enabled the co-construction of a conflict-sensitive green growth action guide. GGGI-BFA now plans to hire a consultant to finalize and operationalize the guide on conflict sensitivity designed in the first phase.
OBJECTIVES OF THE ASSIGNMENT
The overall objective of this assignment is to improve/finalize the existing guide (a 34-page document) to make it much more attractive and usable by a wide audience.
The consultant's mission will consist of:
- Proofreading the existing document on conflict sensitivity in terms of form and content to present it in the form of a guide (guide style);
- Producing a summary of the guide in the form of a guidance note for the authorities and potential development partners in Burkina Faso.
The consultant will undertake the following duties and responsibilities:
- Review the final draft of the conflict sensitivity guide developed by GGGI to ensure consistency and accuracy in grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formatting,
- Correct errors and spelling,
- Correct issues at the core of writing such sentence construction and language clarity,
- Edit the style and fine-tune the text to make sure the document makes sense as a whole
- Ensure the document is written with adequate guide document style, using GGGI/PNF terminologies,
- Consult with GGGI when required,
- Complete the work within the agreed timeline and submit the final translation in soft copy.
The document to be proofread is in French language.
The consultants can work remotely and produce files electronically

The consultant will submit deliverables electronically by email.
All deliverables are exclusive to GGGI.
BFA GGGI is responsible for supervising the project at all stages and will provide approval to the finished product.
EXPERTISE REQUIRED
The consultant should have the following qualifications and competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, literature or related areas;
- Minimum eight years’ experience in editing/proofreading. Experience in editing/proofreading Peace Nexus Foundation documents/documents is an asset;
- Fluent in writing and reading the subject language, preferably a native speaker;
- Knowledge and experience with GGGI and the Peace Nexus in general;
- Proven skills in editing/proofreading: French
ADMINISTRATIVE INFORMATION
