Global Green Growth Institute Internship Program

The GGGI Papua New Guinea (PNG) Country Program, hosted at the Climate Change and Development Authority (CCDA), is scaling up its activities to provide advisory and implementation support to PNG in climate resilience and green growth initiatives. This is done in close cooperation with CCDA and other relevant national and international stakeholders. GGGI is inviting applications for internship positions within the PNG Country Program under the Climate Finance Initiative for Resilience and a Sustainable Transition (FIRST) Project funded by the Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).

The Global Green Growth Institute internship program provides a unique learning opportunity for students and recent graduates from diverse academic backgrounds. The program is designed for talented and motivated individuals skilled in areas relevant to GGGI’s operations. The program allows selected candidates to gain insight into the work of the Institute and provides assistance and training in various professional fields in a multicultural environment. We encourage qualified women and men, in particular, nationals of developing countries, with diverse professional, academic, and cultural backgrounds to apply.

CURRENT OPPORTUNITY

The GGGI PNG program is seeking a talented and motivated individual to support communication and knowledge sharing activities under the Climate FIRST Project. The intern will assist the Communications Associate to develop and deliver communication materials as well as assist in the coverage of GGGI events in the country.

The Communications Intern will work under the guidance of the Communications Associate and will work closely with other team members to support all GGGI communication efforts.

The assignment will include the following but not limited to:

  • Event coverage: Support the documentation and coverage of Climate FIRST project activities and GGGI PNG events through photography, press releases, social media posts, and event summaries.
  • Content Development: Design visual assets and layouts for policy briefs, technical reports, knowledge products, outreach and communication materials for high-level knowledge-sharing events, workshops, trainings and other ad hoc institutional engagements.
  • Digital Communications: Collaborate on the development and dissemination of online content and campaigns across various social media platforms.
  • Knowledge Capture: Collect and organize information, lessons learned, and success stories from Climate FIRST project activities and other GGGI PNG projects to support knowledge sharing and reporting.

  • Documentation and Archiving: Maintain an organized repository of photos, event materials, presentations and communication outputs related to Climate FIRST and other GGGI PNG projects.
  • Knowledge Management: Propose, develop and maintain graphic design materials for GGGI PNG’s internal communication platforms, ensuring visual coherence, clarity, and alignment with corporate branding standards.

The internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, international environment, working on critical issues related to sustainable development.
