Editing of Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) Knowledge Report for GGGI
The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) is hiring a Level 3 Consultant to edit and enhance its Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) Knowledge Report, focusing on GCF investments in Africa. This remote consultancy spans 68 days, with an estimated 25 workdays and a total fee of $3,500.
The consultant’s main tasks include:

Reviewing and editing approximately 75–100 pages of technical content related to CSA and climate finance.

Validating data analyses and literature integration with a focus on GCF-funded CSA projects.

Structuring and refining the report’s conceptual framework and key findings.

Developing policy brief templates in English and French.

Copy editing, ensuring clarity, consistency, and technical accuracy.
The consultant must have at least 5 years of professional experience in editing climate finance or CSA-related reports, with preference for those familiar with UN agencies, development banks, or similar organizations.
Deliverables are linked to three payment milestones, with final outputs due 25 working days after contract signing. Proficiency in English is required; French is an advantage. Applications close on July 19, 2025.

Project background
The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) is an international organization dedicated to supporting and promoting strong, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth in developing countries and emerging economies. GGGI has developed a comprehensive Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) report that provides crucial insights into sustainable agricultural practices, technologies, and financing models across target African countries.
To maximize the impact and reach of this important knowledge product, GGGI seeks to engage a consultant with expertise in climate finance and CSA to edit the report.
Objectives of the assignment
The objective of this consultancy is to provide professional editing services for GGGI's Climate-Smart Agriculture report to ensure the content of the report effectively communicates key findings to target audiences including National Agricultural Systems (NARS), policymakers, development partners, financial institutions, and agricultural stakeholders.
Content Development
- Focus on GCF investments in climate-smart agriculture (CSA) in Africa.
- Review and validate data analyses, with a primary focus on GCF-funded CSA projects.
- Review and integrate relevant literature to support key findings.
- Review the section of the report that outlines the core concepts, including :
- Scale and scope of CSA interventions
- Regional and thematic trends
- Deployment modalities and mechanisms
- Key lessons learned and emerging best practice
- Design policy briefs based on key sections of the report (English and French version)
Content Editing
- Perform thorough copy editing and proofreading of the entire report (approximately 75-100 pages)
- Ensure consistency in terminology, style, and formatting throughout the document
- Improve clarity and readability while maintaining technical accuracy
- Verify references, citations, and cross-references
- Suggest structural improvements where necessary

[NM1] Expertise required
- At least 5 years of demonstrated professional experience in editing technical reports, with specific expertise in climate finance and Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) documents.
- Previous experience working with international organizations, particularly in the environmental or development sectors
- Proven expertise in editing publications related to climate change, agriculture, or sustainable development
- Excellent command of English language for editing (French language skills would be an advantage)
- Familiarity with environmental and climate-related terminology
- Previous work with UN agencies, development banks, or similar international organizations
