TRAINERS FOR KOICA CAPACITY BUILDING PROJECT AND PARTICIPATION IN TRAINING OF TRAINERS (ToT) WORKSHOP

GGGI, with funding from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), have partnered to implement a project titled “Project for Renewable Energy Expansion and Capacity building development in Fiji” to assist the Fiji Rural Electrification Fund Program (FREF). FREF is an initiative that aims to bring clean, renewable electricity to outer island and rural communities in Fiji that are not currently served by the main electric power grid. The project will assist FREF to ensure proper operation and maintenance of Solar PV Mini-grid systems by providing training to selected people in the beneficiary communities and improve their understanding of the renewable energy systems as well as energy efficiency. The expected impact is to assist the Government of Fiji (GoF) to improve sustainability of installed and future solar PV systems, while contributing to progress towards meeting its Renewable Energy target of 100% renewable electricity and 100% rural electrification as well as providing communities with reliable, sustainable energy supply. The target trainees are local government officials, traditional/community leaders, women and vulnerable groups, youth, and local technicians, with the goal of training 4,000 people using the Train-the-Trainers (ToT) approach.

The GGGI Fiji Office in Suva is therefore inviting written Expressions of Interests (EOIs) from qualified and experienced persons and/or organizations wishing to participate in the ToT Workshop, scheduled to be held towards the end of June and/or early July 2026 in Suva, Fiji.

The aim of this workshop will be to:

  1. Train selected applicants on the 10 training modules developed under the Renewable Energy, Inclusive Development and Green Economy Principles
  2. Upon successful selection process, become official trainers as part of this project to conduct training to the target groups mentioned above. The successful trainers will be contracted for 2026 to travel to the identified communities to deliver the community-based trainings.

Persons and/or organizations who have expertise in the subject matters on Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency, Green Economy as well as Gender & Inclusivity, experience in working and conducting trainings in remote communities, knowledge of local languages and cultures, as well as experienced translators of English language to local vernacular language(s) and vice versa are encouraged to apply. Female trainers are especially encouraged, since the project will be training women in culturally sensitive countries.

Please apply by sending in your CV or Corporate Profiles with cover letter by 14 June 2026, 11:59pm Korean standard time. To lean more about GGGI, please visit https://gggi.org
