JUNIOR PROFESSIONAL OFFICER - Communication and Knowledge Sharing Associate

With operations in over 35 countries, GGGI serves the role of an enabler and facilitator of Members’ transition into a low-carbon green economy that is more resilient to climate change. We provide policy advice and technical support in the development of green growth plans, policies and regulations, mobilization of green investments, implementation of green growth projects, and development of local capacities and knowledge sharing. impact the lives of millions. We are looking for a talented individual for the role of JPO-Communication and Knowledge Sharing Associate to work with us in the Communication and Knowledge Sharing Unit and support with efforts to promote the GGGI brand and tell our impact stories both internally and externally though creative and innovative communication and knowledge sharing approaches.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Junior Professional Officer (JPO) -Communication and Knowledge Sharing Associate is an integral member of the Communications and Knowledge Sharing Unit team embedded in the Office of the Director-General (ODG). She/he/they plays a critical role in raising the profile of the organization through designing and disseminating relevant and impactful communication and knowledge products across various communication platforms, including social media, that support country-led, regional, and global events and initiatives. The JPO also helps the Communication and Knowledge Sharing Unit and global team with strategy formulation and implementation and plays a key role in ensuring that GGGI’s brand, visibility and communication guidelines are consistently implemented. The position provides hands-on real-life experiences to grow and foster communication and knowledge sharing skills that will support individualized professional progression in the field.
ENGAGEMENT
- Engage with GGGI global communication and knowledge sharing team members to share, shape and deliver effective and impactful communication and knowledge sharing initiatives.
- Engage with GGGI county, regional, and global programs to learn about their interventions and support external audience facing initiatives.
- Engage with media colleagues to promote GGGI’s green growth solutions.
DELIVERY
- Support the implementation of GGGI’s communication and knowledge sharing strategy in alignment with organizational goals and objectives. This involves supporting the analysis of key target audiences, supporting the development of key messages, and helping identify the most efficient and effective way to reach audiences.
- Create a wide range of creative communication content that supports program and project delivery including program/project factsheets, press releases, social media posts, blogs, GGGI monthly newsletter, multimedia materials and website posts and infographics.
- Support the recognition of GGGI’s brand through the visual guidelines and communication and knowledge sharing policies and practices.
- Support the management of GGGI HQ specific social media platforms including website and ensure consistent and effective messaging across all channels.
- Support the redesign of the GGGI website and help lead the implementation of the initiative across GGGI’s country-regional offices ensuring that interventions support and deliver on program needs.
- Monitor media coverage of GGGI and other leaders in the green growth and climate sectors. Develop media lists and relationships with journalists.
- Support internal communication efforts including cross team learning and sharing through strategy development, management of GGGI’s weekly global information sessions and supporting the senior leadership to communicate important messages effectively and efficiently across the organization.
- Analyze, measure, and report on communication efforts and provide advice if strategies and interventions need to be adjusted.
- Support and help drive the consistent incorporation of gender and social inclusion in all communication and knowledge sharing interventions.
- Learn and grow professional skills, expertise, and experiences in the field of communication and knowledge sharing.
REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS
- A Master’s degree in a relevant area in communications, media, behavior change communication and other relevant disciplines.
- Two years work experience in relevant areas. The experience can include internships, volunteering, and unpaid assignments. The experience can be gained within a candidate’s country or outside.
- Demonstrates commitment and passion to climate change issues, green growth through their life choices, academic studies and paid/unpaid work experience.
- Excellent written and spoken English. The ability to speak a second language pertaining to GGGI’s member countries would be a plus.
- Age 32 or under at the commencement of the program.
- Must be a national of GGGI member countries [list of member countries]
FUNCTIONAL
- Demonstrates good communication and organizational skills and teamworking.
- Creative mind with good hands-on experiences with design, storytelling for wide range of audiences
- Excellent MS Office application, InDesign, Adobe, and other communication applications and technologies to develop creative communication materials, visuals, i.e. video, social media.
- The ability to undertake research and analyze data and apply this consistently for the development of communication initiatives.
- Commitment to the integration of gender and social inclusion into communication and knowledge sharing interventions.
- Experience of living and/or working in multi-cultural contexts would be an advantage.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Junior Professional Officers at GGGI receive a base salary of USD 42,000 per year. They are entitled to 27 days of annual leave and private health insurance, which includes dental and vision coverage. In addition, JPOs benefit from an accommodation allowance, estimated at USD 1,000 per month for Seoul, South Korea, as well as a USD 2,000 per annum Learning and Development budget and other benefits under the JPO program.
