The Office of the Director-General has three Departments: The Department of Strategy and Communications, the Department of Governance and Partnerships, and the Department of Delivery. The Strategy and Communications Department is part of the Office of the Director – ODG – Division. Together with the Partnerships and Governance Department, the ODG Division supports the Director General (DG) with governance, partnerships, strategies, results, change management, communications, and advisory services. The ODG Division is both internal facing, in that it supports GGGI as whole to fulfil its strategic vision, and external facing in that it supports the DG in developing and maintaining relationships with partners and mobilize resources. The ODG Division ensures the DG is effectively supported to play his role as the 'global voice' for green growth.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Office of the Director-General (ODG) is seeking a highly organized and proactive Senior Assistant to provide administrative and operational support to the Department of Strategy and Communications within ODG. Reporting to the Director of Strategy and Communications, the Senior Assistant will be responsible for ensuring the efficient execution of administrative tasks, acting as the focal point for HR, procurement, finance, and general office management, while supporting meetings, events, and logistical arrangements.
PURPOSE
The Senior Assistant will play a key role in supporting the Strategy and Communications Department and ensure effective operations of the Department by providing administrative, logistical, and operational support to the department to ensure seamless daily functions and supporting DSC’s operations.
ENGAGEMENT
The Senior Assistant will work closely with various teams across GGGI, including:
Unit Leads and team members to support administrative and operational needs.
- HR, Finance, and Procurement teams to ensure the smooth processing of requests, and compliance with GGGI policies, rules and regulations.
- Other internal and external stakeholders, in assisting organizing internal/external meetings and events.
DELIVERY
Administrative support to the Department
- Provide administrative, logistical, and technical support to the Department of DSC.
- Serving as the Department’s focal point for finance and corporate services, including procurement, HR, and finance processes.
- Assist in preparing and processing administrative, procurement related tasks and financial documents (e.g., contracts, memos, reports, payment requests).
- Manage travel arrangements, claims, and office operations.
- Lead document management, including organizing, processing, and archiving DSC documents and official correspondence (e.g., contracts, memos, reports, knowledge products, official letters, note verbales).
- Coordinate meeting schedules with stakeholders, manage correspondence, attend meetings, draft minutes, and update the office calendar (events, travel, leave).
- Organize and track follow-up actions from internal meetings (e.g., team meetings, staff retreats).
- Oversee meeting room reservations, event setup, and logistical support.
Support to DSC operations
- Assist in coordinating and recording Divisional/Team level yearly KPIs, and their progress reports.
- Support event planning and logistics for key internal and external events and meetings led by ODG, such as, for instance, GGGI’s Spring Annual Meetings, and the Global Green Growth Week.
- Assist in producing reports, presentations, and analytical documents and associated results products.
- Perform additional tasks assigned by the Director of DSC.
QUALIFICATIONS
- At least a Bachelors’ degree in a related discipline related to the role.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in administrative or operational support roles.
- Fluency in written and spoken English is a must; knowledge of Korean is a definitive advantage.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiarity with administrative systems.

WORKING CONDITIONS
- The Senior Assistant, Office of the Director-General position is an X5 grade level in GGGI’s Republic of Korea salary scale. The X5 Republic of Korea base salary commences at USD 42,012 per year. Determination of base salary is subject to candidate's experience, academic background and internal equity.
- GGGI provides 15% of base salary towards retirement plan/long-term savings, 27 days of annual leave, and private health insurance that covers dental and vision.
