The Senior Project Assistant – Sustainable & Infrastructure Finance will be based in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, and will support the implementation of green investment and sustainable infrastructure initiatives within the country office. The position will contribute to both country-level programs and regional activities linked to the Côte d’Ivoire country office, ensuring coordination and alignment between national priorities and regional strategies.
The Senior Project Assistant will provide operational, administrative, and coordination support to facilitate the effective delivery of projects related to green investment, climate finance, and sustainable infrastructure development, including activities aimed at mobilizing investments that support low-carbon and climate-resilient development.
The incumbent will report directly to the Senior Program Officer – Green Investment and will work closely with the country office team, regional technical staff, government counterparts, development partners, and private sector stakeholders to support the implementation of sustainable finance initiatives.
PURPOSE
The Senior Project Assistant supports the planning, coordination, and implementation of sustainable infrastructure and green finance projects in Côte d’Ivoire.
The role involves assisting in project management processes, supporting stakeholder engagement, and ensuring compliance with organizational procedures and donor requirements. The Senior Project Assistant will contribute to the organization of consultations, workshops, and technical meetings, while maintaining project documentation and supporting reporting processes.
By strengthening coordination between the country office and regional programs, the position contributes to advancing investments that support sustainable infrastructure development, climate resilience, and the transition to a low-carbon economy.
ENGAGEMENT
- Support the Senior Program Officer – Green Investment in coordinating project activities related to sustainable infrastructure finance and green investment initiatives.
- Assist in liaising/supporting effective collaboration with government institutions, development partners, financial institutions, and private sector stakeholders involved in green investment and sustainable infrastructure projects.
- Facilitate coordination between the Côte d’Ivoire country office and regional teams, ensuring alignment of project activities and knowledge exchange.
- Support the organization of stakeholder consultations, investment dialogues, technical workshops, and project meetings.
- Contribute to the preparation of briefing notes, presentations, and technical documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain effective relationships with service providers, consultants, and vendors supporting project implementation.
- Assist in communication and outreach efforts to promote the visibility of sustainable infrastructure and green finance initiatives implemented by the country office.
DELIVERY
- Support the implementation and monitoring of sustainable infrastructure and green investment projects in line with approved workplans and timelines.
- Assist in tracking project deliverables, milestones, budgets, and reporting requirements.
- Maintain project documentation and digital filing systems, ensuring compliance with organizational procedures and donor standards.
- Provide logistical and administrative support for workshops, training sessions, investment roundtables, and stakeholder consultations.
- Assist in preparing project progress reports, donor reports, and activity summaries.
- Support procurement processes and coordination with vendors and consultants.
- Contribute to data collection, monitoring, and information management related to project implementation.
- Prepare meeting minutes, post-event reports, and follow-up action plans.
- Support onboarding of new project staff and contribute to internal knowledge sharing and training activities when required.
- Perform additional administrative and operational tasks as needed to support the country office and project implementation.
REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, economics, public administration, environmental studies, development studies, or a related field. A Master's degree is an asset.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in international organizations, development agencies, or project-based environments.
- Experience supporting donor-funded projects and project management processes.
- Experience organizing workshops, consultations, and stakeholder meetings, including logistics coordination.
- Experience working with government institutions, development partners, financial institutions, or private sector stakeholders.
- Knowledge of sustainable development, climate change, green finance, or infrastructure investment is highly desirable.
- Experience preparing technical reports, communication materials, and presentations.
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and collaboration tools such as MS Teams or SharePoint.
- Fluency in French and English (written and spoken) is required.

WORKING CONDITIONS
This is a national position based in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. The role does not include relocation benefits.
The successful candidate will support both country-level operations and regional activities linked to the Côte d’Ivoire country office, working closely with the Senior Program Officer – Green Investment and the broader program team.
