The Global Green Growth Institute internship program (also called "Grow Green" Program) provides unique learning opportunities for students and recent graduates from diverse academic backgrounds. Current Opportunity 

As the Carbon Finance Department (CFD) expands its communications outputs and external visibility, there is a growing need to strengthen the visual quality, consistency, and professionalism of communications materials across the department. This includes ensuring that presentation decks, publications, social media assets, newsletters, and other visual outputs are not only aligned with GGGI and Carbon Transaction Facility (CTF)’s branding standards, but also visually compelling, cohesive, and reusable across projects and engagements. 

 

Under the guidance of the Head of Readiness and CFD Communications Associate, the intern will support the department in improving the visual consistency and scalability of its communications outputs through the development of stronger templates, design systems, and quality control processes. 

 

The assignment will include, but not limited to: 

  • Using existing GGGI and CTF templates, develop standardized and reusable visual templates and master presentation decks to support consistent and high-quality visual presentation of CFD work across projects and events.  

  • Design and format presentation decks, and support the creation of visual assets and layouts for policy briefs, technical reports, knowledge products, workshops, trainings, high-level events, and other institutional engagements. 

  • Support visual quality control of communications products across projects by reviewing outputs for coherence, visual consistency, professionalism, and alignment with GGGI / CTF brand standards.  

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of a streamlined visual asset library and template repository for CFD communications materials.  

  • Working with CFD Communications Associate, support the design of digital communications materials, including social media graphics, newsletter visuals, campaign assets, and other online content as required.  

  • Collaborate with teams across CFD and its projects to strengthen visual consistency and raise the overall design quality of communications outputs.  

  • Provide general graphic design and visual communications support for ad hoc departmental needs.  

  

Eligibility  

Applicants to the GGGI internship program must meet one of the following requirements:  

  

  • Be enrolled in a Bachelor’s (final year), Master’s or PhD program prior to internship assignment, or a recent graduate within the last 12 months. 

  • Be engaged or recently engaged in a field such as Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Digital Media, Communications, Multimedia Design, or a related field. 

  • Enthusiasm towards finding creative and long-lasting solutions to reduce climate change challenges. 

  • Possess an excellent command of English. 

  

Qualification  

  • Proficiency in graphic design tools such as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Canva, Figma, or equivalent, coupled with a strong understanding of visual hierarchy, branding, layout design, and presentation storytelling. 

  • Demonstrated experience in presentation deck design, publication layout, graphic design, or visual communications. 

  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, structured, and visually compelling formats. 

  • Excellent attention to detail and strong creative judgment.  

  • Ability to manage multiple requests and work effectively in a fast-paced, multicultural environment. Strong communication and collaboration skills. 

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.  

  • Strong command of English. 

  • Able to work effectively with other teams of a high degree of cultural/professional diversity. 

  

Selection Process 

  • Applicants must submit a CV, cover letter, and portfolio of relevant design work as part of their application. The portfolio should demonstrate experience in graphic design, layout design, and presentation/publication development. Applications without a portfolio will not be considered. 

  • GGGI evaluates applications based on eligibility requirements, relevance of academic study and professional experience; and the level of interest and motivation to contribute to the Institute’s work. 

  • Due to the high volume of applications, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.  

  • Applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered. 

  

Important information: 

  

Duration: The internship program is for six months. Once selected, interns must begin the internship either prior to or within 12 months of graduation.  

Stipend: GGGI interns receive a monthly stipend of USD$500 per month. All costs related to travel, insurance, accommodation, and living expenses must be borne by either the interns or their sponsoring institutions.   

Visa: GGGI will provide a supporting letter for visa. Interns will be responsible for obtaining and financing the necessary visas.   

Travel: Intern will arrange and finance their travel to the internship location.   

Medical Insurance: Interns must present proof of valid medical insurance to GGGI upon returning the signed internship contract. 

Confidentiality: Interns must keep confidential all unpublished information obtained during the internship and may not publish any documents based on such information.   

Academic Credit: Interns may get academic credit from their institution of higher education for the internship. Interns need to check with their university to confirm their academic credit policy for internships.   

Working Hours: Interns are expected to work during normal working hours. Leave should be pre-approved by the Intern Manager, and the latter should inform the Office of HR accordingly. 

Learning Outcomes: Before completion of the internship, Intern Managers are expected to review the learning outcomes with the intern. 

Certificate: Provided upon successful completion of the internship, upon request.
